My name is Dr. Chrissy Guidry. After 4 years of medical school, I completed 8 years in residency and fellowship training to become a Trauma Surgeon! I became a double board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care Surgery. During my training to be a Trauma Surgeon, I frequently thought "Once I get a job as a real doctor, I will be successful and then be happy." I foolishly thought that everything would be more fulfilling when I was done with training. I was wrong. A few years after training was over, I realized there was something still missing. I finally discovered that achieving happiness was a prerequisite to a successful career! To get here, I discovered that pursuing happiness is an intentional practice! Through studying and making active changes to my daily habits, I am able to experience a life of abundant happiness; the true success in life. Now, I am able to teach, "docere" (latin word that doctor is derived from) this information to my colleagues (YOU) so that we can tap into the best version of ourselves when we are doctoring!
